Guest Lecture by Alessandro Dell’Endice

Concrrete as an artificial stone

Dr. Alessandro Dell’Endice from Block Research Group, ETH Zurich will give a lecture on recent advances in robotic printing and strucutral design. Alessandro is a Post-Doctoral Researcher and a chartered building engineer and architect with a strong interest in structural design, masonry structures and digital fabrication.  In 2021, Alessandro took part as a structural designer and BRG project leader in the realisation of Striatus, an unreinforced masonry 3D-concrete-printed pedestrian bridge built in Venice, during the European Cultural Centre Architecture Biennial Exhibition 2021.

Striatus is a project by BRG and ZHACode and was fabricated in cooperation with incremetal3D. The Austrian firm specialised in robotic 3D-printing of concrete was co-founded by Johannes Megens (Senior Scientist at i.sd) who will also host the lecture and discussion. Join us in the main auditorium, Campus TEchnik on 09.January 2023, 17:45 pm.
